A Ph.D. position is available at LRI, University of Paris-Saclay (in ROCS team) in the area of edge computing for IoT mainly focusing on a resource allocation optimization problem. The candidate will conduct research study to address the allocation problem of radio resources in an edge computing based 5G system. More specifically, the study will focus on the support of IoT applications that will require several guarantees such as low latency, proximity, and real-time insight into radio network information and location awareness. The candidate should propose novel solutions to the joint optimization of radio and computational resources aimed at minimizing energy consumption under latency and power budget constraints.
The student should have a Master degree (or equivalent) with skills in: mobile and wireless communications (theory and simulation).
CV, a short cover letter explaining the motivations in performing a PhD thesis.
