CLEOPATRA: Cross-lingual Event-centric Open Analytics Research Academy

We are starting a new project funded by the European Union Horizon 2020 research & innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks. The project is entitled CLEOPATRA “Cross-lingual Event-centric Open Analytics Research Academy” (http://cleopatra-project.eu/) and offers 15 PhD positions in the areas of Computer Science and Digital Humanities. See the list of PhD positions below. Highly competitive and attractive salary according to the Marie Sklodowska-Curie standard is offered.

Dependent on the individual research project, successful candidates should have a strong background in Computer Science or Digital Humanities (e.g. an outstanding MSc degree in the corresponding discipline).

Familiarity with one or more of the following areas is of advantage: Semantic Technologies, Human Computer Interaction, Natural Language Processing, Information Extraction and Machine Learning. Good proficiency in English is expected; knowledge of further European languages is of advantage. International experience during your studies or afterwards as well as good social and communication skills are helpful.

Traveling will be part of the program, substantial secondments to partner locations are planned. Candidates are required to meet the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Early Stage Researcher (ESR) eligibility criteria. In particular, at the time of the appointment, candidates must have had less than four years full-time equivalent research experience and must not have already obtained a PhD. Additionally, at the time of recruitment, the ESR must not have resided, or carried out his/her activity in the country of the hiring institution for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to recruitment date. Applicants who do not meet these requirements are not eligible.
